Do you love tattoos? Well, I do. Let me clarify… I love beautiful, interesting and unique tattoos. Barbed wire and Chinese symbols need not apply. I mean, unless you read/write Chinese, how can you be sure that the symbol you are permanently putting on your body means “Love” and not “I’m an asshole?” It’s just not for me. I’m not trying to sound like the grand sage of tattooism, because I’m far from that. I got my first tat when I was 17 (underage…had my friends sister sign for me), slightly intoxicated and put zero thought into what I was putting on my right shoulder blade. It’s two flowers (lilies I think) that join in a circle, but it might as well be a sign that says “I’m an asshole.” I don’t regret a lot of things I’ve done in my life, but admittedly, that decision is one. I’ve thought about removing it, but since I really do love tattoos, I’ve decided to cover it up with a new design….whenever I decide on what that will be, I’ll be sure to let you know.
I can’t remember where I first saw the tattoo artistry of Amanda Wachob, but I think her work is so beautiful. I’ve been kind of scared of color in tattoos because when it’s done badly, it is reeeeally bad. The way she does color though, looks like you’ve just had your skin perfectly painted by a wonderful artist…and that is what I think tattoos should be…works of art on your skin. I would LOVE to be tattooed by her and if I ever find myself in NYC with a lot of money, I’d be seriously tempted. Here are some of my favorites from her site….do check it out!
Who’s feeling the itch to be inked??? This girl. ——–> xoxo, Jenna
